Current Status & Challenges

Why Do We Need Immediate Action?

Malaysian society faces an undeniable dilemma regarding marginalized groups. They need more than sympathy; they need a platform for empowerment.

25%

Youth Facing Trauma

Up to a quarter of youth face family dysfunction, leading to emotional disorders, isolation, and high school dropout rates.

5%

OKU Marginalization

A significant number of PWDs lack inclusive educational opportunities, mental health resources, and equal career platforms.

Systemic Resource Gap

Existing psychological and special education resources are highly concentrated in urban areas, leaving rural and B40 communities far behind.

Digital Literacy

Providing essential digital skills and vocational training to bridge the technology gap for remote and marginalized communities, equipping them for the modern workforce.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about the Design For U initiative.

"Design For U" is a national-first program by MMIO that combines multimedia skills, emotional recovery, and entrepreneurial training. We aim to empower marginalized groups, specifically Persons with Disabilities (OKU) and youths affected by trauma, providing them with a sustainable livelihood through creative skills.

Our primary beneficiaries are Persons with Disabilities (OKU) and youths aged 13 to 25 who have been affected by family-of-origin trauma, neglect, or lack of systemic resources. We focus particularly on marginalized communities outside major urban centers.

When you purchase a product designed by our OKU or youth creators through our online gallery, 100% of the profits go back into the ecosystem. This revenue directly funds future workshops, therapy sessions, and provides a sustainable income for the creators themselves.

You can support us by purchasing from our online store once it launches, donating directly to our cause, or becoming a corporate CSR partner. We actively seek collaborations with brands, educators, and mental health professionals to expand our impact.
